About Us

moss is a holistic architecture and urban design studio. We provide a wide range of services and expertise throughout the entire project, from site selection to design, project management to construction and completion. Our credentials include WBE certification, LEED accreditation, and licensure in Illinois, Michigan, and California. Our work is diverse by design, allowing us to explore the best design solutions across an array of project types, including residential, commercial, breweries and wineries, hospitality, interiors, urban planning, and custom furniture. First and foremost, we are architects, designing and building sustainable architecture. Our experience has led us to expand our role beyond traditional architecture into property development, construction, and interiors. All facets of the studio are rooted in proper and architect-led design. We work collaboratively with our design team and fabricators to create beautiful, livable, superior spaces. We believe that successful design provides solid connectivity with nature while responding to client needs, desires, and their vision of a comfortable, livable, and functional environment. We believe that sustainable designs can be cost-effective, preserve history, and result in a more beautiful, conscientious, and enduring design. Our designs integrate natural light and air, connection to the landscape and green space, and the surrounding environment to create open, navigable spaces for present and posterity.
