About Us

Frederick Phillips and Associates (FPA) provides full architectural services in a variety of building types including, but not limited to, theater, place of worship, office, studio, recreational, and residential design. FPA (www.frederickphillips.com) has won many local and national awards, consisting of national AIA Housing Awards, Distinguished Building Awards from the Chicago AIA, Record House Awards from Architectural Record magazine, and American Architecture Awards from the Chicago Athenaeum. The firm is currently working on a conservation development (www.deerpathfarm.com), a performing arts theater, a place of worship, a water-based recreational and entertainment facility, and several houses. FPA's future plans include active participation in the planning and development of senior living communities. From 2008 to 2012, the firm’s principal Rick Phillips was an Adjunct Professor at IIT, where he taught an Advanced Studio an Urban Modular Housing. In 1996 Phillips was inducted into the College of Fellows of the American Insititute of Architects.
